Boston Bruins:
Creating iconic artwork entirely from hockey tape.

May 10, 2020 marked the 50th anniversary of the Boston Bruins 1970 Stanley Cup win. A game which gave the world one of the most stunning, iconic photos in sports history — “The Dive”. To commemorate this championship we set out to create a stunning image of our own. One that celebrated the entire team instead of a single individual.
The work, now installed and displayed at the Boston Garden, was created in partnership with the talented artist, René Begin. The detailed recreation of the infamous photograph is made without the use of paint, pen or charcoal. Instead, it was painstakingly crafted using only hockey tape. Each tiny piece torn by hand and carefully placed over the course of hundreds of hours.
The tale of the tape.
The work, aptly dubbed “Glory”, is now displayed in the permanent collection of the Boston Sports Museum. We are proud to be a part of that story.
